Riders' Creed, About Page & Product Description

Rhinohead (ridewithrhino.com) had just launched its biking apparel and accessories brand. The founders were brand and industrial designers and they wanted to create a deviant brand that caters to the serious and serene mountain biker instead of the the stereotyped extroverted and domineering rider.

Copy requests included a creed, a helmet product description, and about page content.


For the creed, I studied the common motivations of athletes who are passionate for mountain biking. A key emotion that came up was exhilaration in risk taking. I sought to capture this passion, courage, and relentlessness in pursuing adventure through a creed in the form of a poem.


Likewise, the product description highlights safety, quality, and hints on an exciting biking experience.


The About Page content highlighted the unique selling proposition of the brand and the credibility of its founders.

OUR STORY


Rhinohead was founded in September 2015 by a group of designers who shared a passion for action sports like snowboarding, skiing, surfing, and especially mountain biking. At that time, there were roughly one or two biking apparel and accessory brands in the Philippines. It was difficult to find local products that catered to the taste and needs of a more discriminating market. Thus, they started Rhinohead to empower riders and to share their expertise in the action sports products category.


Rhinohead biking apparel, accessories, and protection cater to hobbyists, weekend warriors, and individuals who possess a strong affinity for action sports, especially biking. Its audience is mostly average bikers that see the sport as a passion and source of inspiration.


What makes the Rhinohead brand different is that it merges elegant design with high functionality and performance. It emerged out of a strong understanding of what the action sports and biking community is looking for. Rhinohead’s founders have almost 20 years of experience in designing and developing famous extreme sports brands from Europe, Asia, and the US. They are composed of industrial and brand designers.


Rhinohead’s aesthetic philosophy is a deviation from the stereotype action sports athlete that is loud, colorful, and domineering. For Rhinohead, an action sports brand does not always have to be noisy and extroverted. It can be serious and serene, yet still athletic. Rhinohead apparel and gear have color palettes that exude quiet confidence and sophistication as well as workmanship that ensures product durability and protective function.


Rhinohead is one of the first Filipino brands of biking apparel, accessories, and protection, as well as the first Filipino brand to combine a fashion-forward, high product performance approach. It aims to provide premium sports products to Philippine and international markets.
